Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department takes 2nd Place in
Tri-County Firematics Competition

Members of the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department (FHBFD) recently placed 2 nd overall out of nine departments competing in this year's Tri-County Firematics competition. The annual event took place on June 12 and was hosted by Basking Ridge Fire Company. This was the best finish for the department since winning the competition 14 years ago.

The department competed in three timed events including a single hose lay, ladder and double hose lay. FHBFD finished 3 rd in the single hose, 8 th in the ladder and 3 rd in the double hose.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Job

At this very moment, an select group of volunteers stands ready at a moments notice. At the sound of the tones on our pagers, ordinary citizens immediately set aside what they are doing and assume the role of first responder to a various assortment of emergencies that threaten lives and property. They are motivated by a sense of duty, tradition, and pride. The reward is the satisfaction in knowing they’ve performed an important, but extraordinary service to the Borough of Far Hills and Township of Bedminster.
